Some of us like to sit alone some of time, then they prefer not to talk with the closest and best friends or relatives. After that, those people insist to live alone in an isolated life.

So, we need to discuss this issue in mental health honestly in simple information in order to live healthy, happy and know how to protect ourselves.

1 – WHAT IS LONELINESS?

It is an unpleasant emotional response to isolation. Loneliness includes anxious feelings about a lack of connection or communication with other beings.

The experience of loneliness is highly subjective; an individual can be alone without feeling lonely.

2- WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF LONELINESS?

The causes of loneliness are varied and include social, mental, emotional and physical factors.

Psychiatrist John Bowlby during the second half of the 20th century, attachment theory emphasises the importance of a strong emotional bond between the infant and the caregiver; it stands as a forerunner to contemporary theories of loneliness. From that perspective, loneliness occurs when children with insecure attachments patterns behave in ways that result in their being rejected by their peers. Those rejections hinder their development of social skills and increase their distrust of other people, thereby fostering ongoing loneliness.

3- HOW TO GET OVER LONELINESS.

[1] JOIN GROUPS WITH SIMILAR INTERESTS AS YOURS.

In order to get over loneliness, you can share your favourite hobby with others in your area. If you look around, you will find that other people long to connect just as much as you do; so don’t hesitate to reach out to them.

[2] YOU SHOULD KNOW YOURSELF.

You must break all the chains that bind you so that you can leave behind emotional trauma from the past. You should learn to love yourself before anyone else offer you the same sentiment.

[3] YOU SHOULD TALK TO A NEW PERSON.

You need to leave your phone some of time and go out, you will see new people on your way like grocery store, bus stop, railway station. It will be easy to start talking to them. So, you have the best chance to connect with others pretty much anywhere you go.

[4] YOU NEED TO SPEND MORE TIME REAL IN THE REAL WORLD.

Unfortunately, the high technology made some of people be connected to phones or laptops or tablets or computers much time everyday without meeting the people and talking with them face to face.

So, you need to limit technology use few hours a day if you can, you will find that you have much time to meet your friends and you can make connections with new ones.
