WHAT ARE THE FEELINGS ABOUT SUICIDE IN MENTAL HEALTH?
Sometimes parents or people close to children may kill themselves. It is hard enough for adults to understand, so children will naturally enough wonder why. They may be angry at the person for doing what they did. “Why?”, “What did I do wrong” and so on may be common responses. They may feel that it is their fault; that the person did not want to be with them. It is important to help the child to realise that it is not their fault. A person may take their own life because they are ill or think they may not get better, or they may feel ill in their mind. No one takes them own life when they are feeling well.
